Cutting regs in Texas

A Texas state legislator takes aim at occupational licensing laws, many of which exist to protect practitioners from competition or feed the state's coffers. Repeal the requirement for any licenses that does not, in fact, depend upon a demonstrated skill the absence of which would do actual damage to consumers. A license to shampoo another person would not fall in that category.
