Local protectionism

The Supreme Court has granted cert in a case that should define the extent to which state and local governments can use protectionist regulation to favor local businesses over national chains. Much as we are all for buying locally as a matter of preference or taste (Keep Austin Weird!), restraints on interstate commerce are downright un-American. The SCOTUS should put a stake through the heart of this law, burn it, bury it, and salt the earth so nothing can rise from the grave.
