Schadenfreude moment: Susan Rice reaps the whirlwind

Susan Rice, a wealthy official in an administration that attacks the wealthy and frequently proposed as Barack Obama's next Secretary of State, reaps the whirlwind.

According to The Hill, Rice owns between $300,000 and $600,000 in TransCanada Corp. stock, and the group RootsAction.org, which claims 200,000 members, has started a petition that says, “it’s indefensible that Rice has millions of dollars invested in oil companies and banks that will make huge profits if the State Department gives approval to the XL pipeline.
If you do not like Breitbart, more along the same lines from ThinkProgress.

Oops.

That Susan Rice has large investments in Canadian energy companies is to her credit, actually. Canadian energy has been, and will be, important to American prosperity. That the anti-business left is trying to hang her with them is sad for her, but a useful lesson to people who believe in enterprise. Do not lie down with people who hate what you believe.
