Blogging enterprise

Big blogger Andrew Sullivan is moving from an ad-driven model to subscription deal. The linked story has some interesting observations about the pros and cons of advertising online, and the perceived need to attract traffic on some basis other than, er, tight writing. It will be interesting to see how Sullivan's new business performs, but it would not shock me if he boosts his own income considerably.

Of course, it might be harder to get other writers to work for free when he wants to take a few days off...
