  1. I and some other folks (authors Paul Erdman and Harry Browne, for example) saw America's current problems coming as far back as the 1970s. That's one of the reasons I went global a long time ago.

    Yes, American finance guys and American computer guys and some other American guys and dolls in businesses like real estate managed to pull rabbits out of their hats (LBOs, dot-coms, newfangled phones, etc.) to keep things going longer than I had expected. But I haven't seen any rabbits lately.

    Washington's Democratic politicians? They're part of the problem, not part of the solution. Washington's Republican politicians? They're part of the problem, not part of the solution, too.
