There is life in the Keystone pipeline

The State Department has issued a report that finds that the impact of the Keystone pipeline on the climate and environment will be "manageable," which -- without reading the 2000 page report -- we take to be somewhere between negligible and non-existent. This is thought to provide President Obama, who will never face another election, with "political cover" against the greens, who are staunchly opposed to economic growth anything that could compromise the pristine beautiful of the American great plains. The thought would be wrong.

Mr. President, please just make a choice. Paralysis only makes you look weak, and delay only hurts the rate of return, perhaps to the point of making the project a bad deal. How hard can it be to, you know, decide?

  1. Ah, to decide. The function of the executive. Pity we don't have one in the Executive Office of the President.
