On Saturday, I went on a walkabout in my new home town of Austin and stumbled across this establishment. Still deciding whether the name is brilliant or a mess, and cannot imagine how to benchmark hookah as a business.

ReplyDeleteYou often run into Texas oil guys in oil-producing countries in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, one of my Korean friends likes to sing Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man" when he drives his Mercedes-Benz. Indonesian entertainers frequently sing American country-and-western songs in Indonesia (a predominantly Muslim country). I used to see an ethnic Chinese man known as the "Orchard Road Cowboy" with his Stetson hat in Singapore. And "Soi Cowboy"--named after an African-American bar owner who often wore a cowboy hat--is a famous red-light district in Bangkok.
