The WSJ defines the various ways in which you can be rich, but misses the most important: Can you live comfortably and have some fun without having to work at what most people would call a "job"? If so, you are rich. If you cannot, you are not, no matter what politicians or statisticians might say. Since nobody can tell you what it means for you to "live comfortably" or "have some fun," being "rich" is to some significant degree within your control.
